Well, Floor is Lava is a game show based on the childhood game. If you’re not familiar with it and didn’t pretend the floor was lava in your childhood – it is a fairly simple concept.
In both the children’s game – and the TV show – the aim is to jump from object to object, and avoid falling into the lava at all costs
On the Netflix show, three teams are required to jump onto planks of wood, planets, ancient monuments, and a whole variety of random objects, to make it across different rooms.
Of course, the team who makes it across the room safely wins! In fact, they win $10,000 – a victory Floor is Lava team Mama’s Boys are currently enjoying!

But since the show arrived on Netflix, viewers of the Floor is Lava have been asking how deep is the water?

How deep is the water on Floor is Lava?
On the Floor is Lava, we have seen many of the contestants meet their demise as they fall into the bubbling red water.
But we can only imagine where they go, and what they have fallen into!
Unfortunately, there are no definite answers anywhere, as to how deep the water, or lava, is, but that doesn’t mean we can’t speculate!
So, on the show when you see a contestant fall into the water, it does make quite a splash, but of course, for health and safety reasons the water couldn’t be too deep!
However, show producer Irad Eyal did reveal some details of the lava production in an interview with the Hollywood reporter. Eyal said that when they were designing the lava, it needed to be safe enough so that contestants could be submerged for minutes, or even hours, at a time!

This of course, means that contestants must be in the water – or lava – for a little while at a time. So it’s safe to say the water couldn’t be too deep as to put them in any danger!

Yes, unfortunately, show producers Irad Eyal and Megan McGrath are determined to keep their lava recipe under wraps.
Again, Irad did reveal that the lava is not simply, water and red dye. In actual fact, it is a recipe that took Hollywood’s chemists months to come up with!
In fact, they tried and tested several different lava formulas in that time, to make sure they had the most realistic and bubbling lava possible!
