Dating shows seem to be popular on Netflix at the moment, whilst our dating lives’ are on pause, we’re living vicariously through everyone else’s. And Netflix Original Indian Matchmaking is no different. The show follows top Matchmaker Sima Taparia trying to find life partners for her clients from India to America. We see the couples go out on many successful (and unsuccessful) dates but one thing we don’t see is what happens next.
Did anyone actually find their life partner? We carried out our own investigation and found Netflix Indian Matchmaking fan favourite Nadia on Instagram to see what happened next.
After watching Sima work her magic, we’re now all convinced we could be professional matchmakers too, but did she find Nadia the life partner fans so badly wanted her to find after all?

Who Is Nadia From Indian Matchmaking?
Nadia Jagessar is a 32-year-old events planner from New Jersey who turned to Sima’s matchmaking service to find love. Although she loves her job, she hoped to have her own wedding instead of planning everyone else’s for once.
On the show, Nadia expressed how it’s hard for her to find someone from an Indian background. Although Nadia is of Indian heritage, her family is from Guyana. She explained how people in the past have not been able to understand this part of her life and some even thinking she’s not ‘Indian enough’.
In the early episodes, we saw Nadia get close to Vinay. Everything seemed to be going well, however, the fairy tale didn’t last for long. Vinay didn’t turn out to be all he seemed to be, or even turn up to dates! The final straw came when he didn’t turn up to meet Nadia with her friends, leaving her embarrassed and hurt.

But there are two sides to every story and since the show aired, screenshots have emerged online. In a conversation between Vinay and a fan, Vinay says Nadia was the one who ghosted him, leaving him ‘heartbroken.’
Talking about the ‘scandal’ to The Oprah Magazine Nadia said:
“I understand why people are fascinated by it. But I don’t feel like I have to set the record straight because the record was shown on the show, from my end. I just have no hard feelings towards anyone. I want happiness for everybody.”
After all the drama, much to viewers delight, Nadia had a great date when she visited Shekar in his hometown, Chicago. She even brought her mum along who definitely approved!
But what happened after the show? Are Nadia and Shekar still dating?

Nadia came on the show in hopes Sima could help her find love, but did she find it?
Unfortunately not. Nadia and Shekar didn’t work out and at the moment, Nadia is single and still looking for love. But why didn’t Nadia and Shekar pursue things further? They seemed to be getting on so well!
Talking to the LA Times about her relationship with Shekar, Nadia said: “Being off-camera definitely changed the dynamic between myself and the matches that I had continued talking to, and obviously, the change was not positive. But it helped me learn more about myself and what I’m looking for in a future partner.”

Amassing almost 100k followers since the show, Nadia shares a lot of her personal life on her Instagram including her friends and her work, which has unfortunately been put on pause due to the pandemic.
