Heston Blumenthal’s Crazy Delicious landed on Netflix last month and viewers have never seen a food show like it.
Heston Blumenthal is a household name these days. After becoming a firm advocate for the scientific side of cooking- even using liquid nitrogen as part of his cooking routine – it is no surprise he is the creator behind Crazy Delicious!
The Netflix show, which first aired on Channel 4 in the UK, features the worlds first edible set. It includes a prosecco waterfall, chocolate soil and even edible blossom!
The TV show has an essence of Heston all over it. Contestants actually have to venture out into the fairy-tale edible set to pick and forage for their ingredients.

What is Netflix Crazy Delicious?
Netflix show Crazy Delicious is a one of a kind cooking show that sees contestants challenged with turning everyday average meals into weird and wonderful creations.
The contestants are tasked with impressing the three food gods – Heston Blumenthal, Carla Hall, and Niklas Ekstadt. In fact, Niklas Ekstadt is another chef with a niche cooking-style up his sleeve, and prefers to only cook with open fire!
Each episode of the Netflix cooking show focuses on three contestants who create three dishes. Each needs to inspire in concept, visual appeal – and of course taste amazing. The winner of the show is awarded with the golden apple, a suitable reward for the Garden of Eden style cooking show!
Crazy Delicious was created by Heston Blumenthal, and you can certainly see the contestants using inspiration from his scientific approach to cooking. Crazy Delicious contestant Adam Purnell definitely gets experimental in the show. He creates a very odd-sounding dish of strawberry cheesecake buffalo wings that go down a storm with the judges!

Who is Heston Blumenthal?
Heston Blumenthal is a British celebrity chef from London. He gained his reputation for experimenting with the scientific side of cooking and has influenced the way many chefs prepare food.
You might not know that it was Heston who perfected the art of the triple-cooked chips (thank you Heston), and he even invented the zero-gravity bacon sandwich for astronauts.
Heston started his career as a chef when he purchased a run-down pub called the Fat Duck. This simple pub quickly gained the approval of famous food critics, and eventually was branded as a Bistro.
The Fat Duck is now a hugely popular experience restaurant that take diners on a journey of their food. In fact, Heston Blumenthal is now the owner of four restaurants – three of which are Michelin star!
Unlike fellow Crazy Delicious judge Niklas Ekstadt, Heston Blumenthal isn’t on Instagram. He has actually said in interviews that he finds it frustrating when diners sit and take pictures of their food! Although, I think it would be hard not to photograph some of the creations he serves!
