Maura Higgins rose to prominence on reality show Love Island – but what does her dating history look like since leaving the show?
Maura immediately made an impression on the British public during her time on the popular dating show! Especially after she paired up with hunky dancer, Curtis Pritchard.

Before Maura Higgins would appear on Love Island, she was in a relationship with a car salesman named James Finnegan. The couple met while they were in school together and their relationship would last for nine years!
But there’s more! The couple were even engaged to be married in 2012, sadly their relationship would begin to splinter only four years later.
During Maura’s time on Love Island, an unknown source revealed that she tried to make her relationship with Finnegan work — even after her modelling career began to pick up! So Higgins definitely wanted to see the relationship last, but it wasn’t meant to be!
It’s difficult losing your first love, but Higgins couldn’t let her relationship spoil her dreams of stardom. In 2019, she would go on to appear on Love Island and begin her next significant relationship.
Maura Higgins on Love Island!
Maura Higgins appeared on the fifth series of Love Island. During her time on the show, we would see the glamorous brunette set her sights on fellow islander, Tommy Fury.
At this point in the show, Curtis Pritchard was already paired up with Amy Hart. However, the two eventually sought each other out and remained one of the stronger couples from the show!
After leaving the tropical villa, Maura Higgins and Curtis Pritchard would continue to date for eight months! However, the relationship did not last and Higgins announced their break-up via Instagram. On the post, Higgins had this to say:
“We enjoyed a great experience from our time in the villa and want to thank everyone for supporting our relationship […] There is no easy way to get through a break-up and no bad feeling on either side. We tried to make it work but it wasn’t to be and I wish Curtis nothing but the best for the future.”

Maura Higgins Dating History – Post-Island!
Earlier this year, it was widely circulated that Maura Higgins had begun dating television personality, Michael Griffiths.
News of the couple’s relationship spread when they were seen having dinner together in Essex. However, the relationship was mainly speculation and nothing was confirmed by either party.
And it seems that any romantic relationship they had is now over, with the pair still remaining close friends.
But the speculation over Maura Higgins dating history hasn’t ended there! Recently it was reported that Maura had begun dating fellow islander, Chris Taylor.
Speculation over the couple’s relationship grew when they recreated the famous flying pose from Titanic – a pose often restricted to romantic partners!
Fans of Love Island immediately approved the relationship, citing the couple’s strong friendship as the perfect foundation for their romance.
However, it seems that a relationship may not exactly be on the table!
Maura Higgins and Chris Taylor – Are They Together?
Although Maura herself has not yet addressed the rumours regarding their relationship, Chris Taylor has spoken out about their romantic status!
In an interview with Digital Spy, the reality star stated that he and Higgins are only friends:
“We care about each other, we look out for each other, we basically bully each other […] We’re platonic, as they say, platonic friends.”
Chris went on to state that he has considered pursuing a romance with Higgins, but believes it would ruin their friendship.
So maybe there is a glimmer of hope for the Maura/Chris stans out there, but for now, the two are happy as mates.
