Where did the nickname come from?

The 30-year-old queen was often referred to as Dr Reggie when in the university of Wabash, which is an all boys school. So it is believed that due to previously having that nickname out of drag and wanting to become a doctor in the future. Therefore RuPaul wanted to make this own version. Hence the Dr Silky.

In terms of the Reverend part of the nickname, this is due to Silky previously being a minister of music in her church, where she advises she played the piano, sang and lead the choir. Although Silky does not appear to have Instagram anymore, which this tweet is linked to from 2019, it confirms her nickname.

However, during the variety performance in All Stars 6, her talents are more showcased when she plays the piano and sings.

We wish silky all the best in her future endeavours in and out of Drag!
