Celebrity Gogglebox is back for 2020, with a new cast of British talent, from Jamie Theakston to Stacey Solomon.
Since the new series premiered in early June, audiences have been enamoured with its new cast of celebrity personalities. Some even proving to be popular fan favourites!
But who makes up the 2020 cast of Celebrity Gogglebox? Who are these new celebrities? Who is Jamie Theakston? Let’s take a look at the new selection of celebrity talent and the careers that made them famous!
Who is in The 2020 Cast of Celebrity Gogglebox?
The 2020 cast of the popular reality show has seen the return of some beloved show regulars. But it has also seen the country introduced to a whole host of new faces!
Returning to the cast we find singer and television personality, Stacey Solomon. Who films the show from her living-room in Essex, where she is again accompanied by TV presenter, Joe Swash.
The second series also sees the return of radio host, Nick Grimshaw and his niece, Liv Grimshaw. The two often seen on the show, lounging in their stylish living-room with a plate of snacks.
While television presenter, Rylan has also returned for the 2020 cast, once again appearing alongside his hilarious mother, Linda.
But the new series has also seen some new faces being added to the celebrity line-up!
Recent newcomers include Babetunde Aleshe and his friend, Mo Gilligan. So far these two have proven popular with audiences, immediately solidifying themselves as fan favourites.
Musicians Shawn Ryder and Bez, both members of the Happy Mondays, have also joined the new cast. Ryder once again delivering on the foul-mouth commentary that he is known and loved for.
Actress Emilia Fox has also returned for the 2020 cast. However, this time she is joined by her wonderful mother, Joanna David.
British personality Jamie Theakston has also joined the cast of Celebrity Gogglebox 2020, and people are wondering who he is?
Who is Jamie Theakston?
Jamie Theakston is a forty-nine-year-old television presenter, radio host, actor and producer.
Theakston began his career at the age of twenty-three when he was picked to host the Saturday Sport Show on Radio 5 Live. Since then, Jamie has hosted numerous radio shows across various channels. In his career he has hosted, Sportscall, The Jamie Theakston Cricket Show and Sport on Wednesday.
In 1999, Jamie Theakston joined Radio 1 and began hosting the Sunday Lunch Show. Theakston would leave radio to pursue a career in acting in 2002. However, by 2005 Jamie had signed a new contract with London-based radio station, Heart. Since working with the station, Theakston has worked with Harriet Scott, Emma Bunton and Amanda Holden.
Holden and Theakston currently host Heart Breakfast, which in 2019 went national across the U.K.
Jamie Theakston has also seen a successful career in television. In 1998, he hosted the popular music show Top of the Pops, leaving the show in 2003. He has also hosted shows such as Alive and Kicking, The Priory and This Morning Summer.
Theakston has also worked several times with comedy duo, Matt Lucas and David Walliams – appearing in both Rock Profile and Little Britain. Theakston has also acted in shows such as Agatha Christie’s Marple and Much About Alice, his first time working with co-host Amanda Holden.
According to estimated reports, Theakston currently has a net worth between $1 – 5 million!

Is Jamie Theakston Married?
Jamie Theakston is currently married to British jewellery designer, Sophie Siegel.
The couple first met in 2006, when they both attended the Oscars ceremony. A year later, Theakston would propose to Siegel during a holiday in Paris. The couple married in 2007 in Ditching, Sussex.
Siegel still currently works as a jewellery designer, selling her creations under her married name.
On her website, Siegel states:
“The aesthetic of Sophie’s design is soft and bohemian, delicate yet bold, and with a nod to the antiquities and religious symbolism that she encounters on her frequent travels […] She draws inspiration from the spiritual meaning behind ancient designs and beliefs, and the symbolic and well-being energies of the stones themselves.”
Jamie and Sophie have two children together. Their first son, Sidney, was born in 2008. The couple would see the birth of their second son in 2009.
Jamie Theakston on Celebrity Gogglebox 2020!
Jamie Theakston has recently joined the second series of Celebrity Gogglebox, which aired in June 2020.
However, Theakston does not appear on the sofa with his beloved wife. Instead, he is accompanied on the show by former Pussy-Cat Doll, Ashley Roberts.
Theakston has previously worked with Ashley Roberts through his radio hosting career. Roberts occasionally joining Theakston and Amanda Holden on their breakfast show. The two consider each other as good friends.
Since Celebrity Gogglebox returned to our screens, some audiences have criticised the show for breaking British lockdown rules.
However, since the show’s initial airing, lockdown restrictions have been slowly lifted. So-called ‘Support Bubbles’ can now be formed by single-adult households. Allowing people to socialise without having to be restricted by the laws of social distancing.
A Channel 4 spokesperson addressed audience worries during the airing of the original show:
“Most of the families live together but where they don’t, they are complying with PHE (Public Health England) social distancing guidelines […] Gogglebox will only film the families where it’s safe to do so. The health and safety of our cast and crew is paramount.”
Gyles Brandeth, who also appears on Celebrity Gogglebox, stated that:
“We stay 2 meters apart, and there’s no one else in the building.”
Meaning that Jamie Theakston, and the rest of the Celebrity Gogglebox cast, are doing exactly what they should during this difficult time.
